The conference "A Green New Deal for Sweden?: Transformation of Ecological, Energy and Economic Systems in the 21st Century", is being held at the University of Stockholm in Sweden on March 9 and 10th, organized by Associate Professor of Economic History, Jonathan M. Feldman.

Jonathan M. Feldman's article, "From Mass Transit to New Manufacturing," has been published in the April 2009 special "green jobs" issue of The American Prospect. The article explains how a new industrial-policy initiative for domestic production of mass transit products could help the United States overcome multiple economic challenges. It could provide high-wage jobs, generate tax revenue, expand exports, and reduce trade deficits.
A new book, "Mandate for Change" includes a chapter called "Green Jobs for a Sustainable Economy" by Jon Rynn. He will be speaking about his chapter at a book event being hosted by Demos on March 12th in New York City.
